Canning is what most of us grew up watching our grandmothers do, but it is making a widespread comeback and so many are not aware how easy and fun it can be. Not only is it easier, there is such a self satisfaction and pride to be earned in the production of your goods. This session's focus involves canning bread and butter pickles and green tomatoes. We have ventured into doing canning for others and would like to share our interest. Our group works together, and we share the learning experiences and the social togetherness. The strategies used in this situation include math skills, cooperative learning, science skills, social interaction, reading, etc.
